Dreamcast & PC Secrets

Many quests have bonus prizes and secret side missions you can undertake. Information about various secrets that players have discovered over the years is available below.

Please be cautious when sharing this information with new players. Some people like to discover things on their own, and once you know all the secrets a game has to offer, you can never enjoy the experience of discovering something new again. You may wish to think twice before reading everything below...

You can convert monster parts into equipable items in this quest by locating the microchip on Ragol and giving it to Dr. Montague. Unlike in offline mode, weapons converted in this quest will receive random percentages. If you're playing vanilla V2, this quest is also the only way to convert V2 monster parts, as Dr. Montague won't accept them in offline mode. The specifics of monster part conversions are:

Quest Completion Prizes

The prize system has been rebalanced: A-Rank and S-Rank percentages have been increased by 5, and SS-Rank percentages can be twice as high as before. The new tiers are:

The prizes are:

Blue Ring will receive 0-85 extra DFP and 0-25 extra EVP, instead of percentages.

Weapons Badges

You can trade Weapons Badges with the Weapons member near the hospital. The possible trades are:

The percentage options for Broom and Wok of Akiko's Shop depend on the difficulty setting: Normal mode yields no percentages, Hard mode yields A-Rank percentages, Very Hard mode yields S-Rank percentages, and Ultimate mode yields SS-Rank percentages.

The Photon Blast options for Panther's Tail also depend on the difficulty setting: Normal mode yields no PBs, Hard mode yields 1 random PB, and both Very Hard and Ultimate mode yield 2 random PBs. The possible PB options match what you can get from Frantic Fauna.

Insane Bosses

To activate the secret Insane boss mode, have all players enter the Principal's Office, and then talk to the left desk. You won't be able to use ES weapons or perform PB combos in this mode, but you will receive a special prize if you succeed: male characters will receive Secure Feet, while female characters will receive Safety Heart when you talk to Irene after completing the quest. Both shields will have randomly generated DFP and EVP bonuses.

Sega System Mags

The Guardian of Evolution has been upgraded to give more Photon Blast options for Sega system Mags. Unlike for other Mags, the PBs are not randomly generated, since you must find and trade rare items in order to acquire these Mags. The possible evolutions are:

The possible PB options depend upon the Mag in question and the difficulty setting. The possibilities are:

Normal

Hard

Very Hard

Ultimate

If you want the original PB options that Sega allowed, simply perform the evolution(s) on Hard mode. The ability to get system Mags with no PBs as well as with 2 PBs is new.

Tekker (Guardian of Transformation)

The Tekker will allow you to combine certain items together to make rare weapons. The possible combinations are:

For male characters, Double Cannon will receive the same percentages as the original Lavis Cannon, and Guld Milla will receive the same percentages as the original Handgun: Guld. For female characters, Double Cannon will receive the same percentages as the original Lavis Blade, and Guld Milla will receive the same percentages as the original Handgun: Milla. Tsumikiri J-Sword will always receive the same percentages as the original Sealed J-Sword.

Garon

If you have between 50-60 Photon Points, Garon will offer to sell you an ES J-Cutter in exchange for an ES Slicer, plus a fee of 50 Photon Points. The ES J-Cutter will receive the same name as the original ES Slicer. This eliminates the need to pick the "NO TYPE" option in Challenge mode for a chance to randomly receive an ES J-Cutter.

Insane Mode

This was the first quest I made that contains a special difficulty setting. As such, the process for activating Insane mode is different in this quest. The team creator must have completed the offline quest Journalistic Pursuit in order for you to activate Insane mode. Proceed to the Principal's Office and talk to the FOmarl there. She will give you a Technician Access Code that you can use with the terminal in Mine 1. Select the Updates option at the terminal and input the code to enable Insane mode.

Christmas Catastrophe

If you find some mushrooms for him, he will give you a feather that you can exchange with the fashion-obsessed lady on Pioneer 2 to get a special Mag. In Normal, Hard, and Very Hard modes, you will receive a random Mag. In Ultimate mode, you get to pick the Mag you want. The possible prizes are:

Ultimate

Weapons Side Quest

You can undertake an additional side quest in Ultimate mode by talking to the Weapons member near the Telepipe area. He will challenge you to complete the quest without using ES weapons. If you succeed, he will give you a Game Magazine with 0-40% on two damage areas and 0-40% on Hit.

Sil Dragon

During the Weapons side quest, have all players shrink before you disarm the probe, then approach the large red door near the final computer console in Forest 2. If everybody inserts their Key Cards, you'll be able to fight the Sil Dragon. If you succeed, you'll be rewarded with a Weapons Iron Badge. Show the badge to the Weapons member on Pioneer 2, and you'll receive a Hamburger with randomly generated Photon Blasts.

Halloween Horror

This quest contains doors that won't unlock simply from killing enemies. You must find and attack hidden switches in each area to open them. The switch positions are:

Attacking these buttons will unlock an extra door in their respective areas. Go through the bonus doors to press pink door switches that unlock a 2-player door in Ruins 3. Go through this Ruins 3 door and turn around to find the final button just above the door.

In Ultimate mode, activating this button will open the door to Dark Falz. If you win the battle, you'll receive Unknown Residue that you can trade with the scientist on Pioneer 2 for Sega system Mag parts. The Mag part you receive is chosen randomly. The possible Mag parts are:

You can use these parts to evolve the Sega system Mags in Towards the Future.

The quest also has randomised switches that will force you to fight either in darkness or in poisonous fog if you activate the wrong one. Something in the quest will change to tell you which switch is the correct one to press...

Acrid Aquifer
